Welcome to TrackDeals ("we," "our," "us," or "the App"), a price tracking application operated by Kapil Daiya, based in India. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our mobile application (available on Google Play Store) and visit our website (trackdealsapp.com).
✅ Privacy-First Approach: TrackDeals does NOT require any login, signup, email, phone number, or password. You can use the app completely anonymously. We only collect the minimum data necessary to provide price tracking and deal notifications.
By downloading and using TrackDeals, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our app.
2. Information We Collect
TrackDeals is designed to work with minimal data collection. Here's exactly what we collect:
2.1 Data Stored Only on Your Device (Locally)
The following information is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:
- Your Name/Nickname: When you first open the app, you may enter a name for personalization. This name is saved locally on your device only. If you clear app data, this name is removed and you'll be asked again.
- App Preferences: Theme settings, notification preferences, and other in-app settings.
2.2 Data Stored on Our Servers (Firebase Firestore)
To provide price tracking and notification features, we store the following data on our secure servers, linked to an anonymous user identifier:
- Anonymous User ID: A unique identifier automatically generated when you install the app. This is NOT linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
- FCM Token (Firebase Cloud Messaging): A device-specific token used to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Tracked Products: Product URLs you submit for tracking, along with product details (name, image, current price, original price).
- Price History: Historical price data of tracked products to show you price trends.
- Subscribed Categories: Product categories you choose to receive deal notifications for.
- Search History: Products you've searched for within the app, used to improve your experience.
- Notification History: Record of notifications sent to you and your interactions with them.
- Usage Statistics: Number of price drops you've received and estimated savings (for your profile display).
2.3 Automatically Collected Technical Data
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version (collected by Firebase Analytics)
- App Usage Data: Features used, screen views, app open/close events (anonymized analytics)
- Crash Reports: When the app crashes, technical logs are sent via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs
- Approximate Region: Country/region level only (India), derived from app installation data
3. What We DON'T Collect
We are transparent about what we never ask for or collect:
- ❌ No Email Address — we don't have a login or signup system
- ❌ No Phone Number — we never ask for it
- ❌ No Password — no account creation required
- ❌ No Real Name — the name you enter is optional and stored only on your device
- ❌ No Payment Information — we never handle transactions
- ❌ No Contacts or Phone Book
- ❌ No Photos, Media, or Files from your device
- ❌ No Precise GPS Location
- ❌ No Microphone or Camera Access
- ❌ No SMS or Call Logs
- ❌ No Browsing History outside our app
- ❌ No Health, Fitness, or Biometric Data
- ❌ No Social Media Accounts
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data strictly for these purposes:
- ✅ Price Tracking: To monitor prices of products you've added and detect price drops
- ✅ Price Drop Alerts: To send you a notification when a tracked product's price falls below a threshold
- ✅ Loot Deal Notifications: To deliver curated high-discount deals selected by our team to all users
- ✅ Category-Based Alerts: To send deal notifications for product categories you have subscribed to
- ✅ Price History Display: To show you historical price trends of tracked products
- ✅ Profile Statistics: To display your tracking stats (deals received, savings)
- ✅ App Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and fix bugs (via Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics)
- ✅ Service Operation: To deliver core app functionality and improve reliability
5. Third-Party Services We Use

5.1 Server-Side Price Data Retrieval
To fetch product prices from supported retailers like Flipkart, our backend servers use third-party web data infrastructure services (similar to proxy/scraping APIs). These services receive only the product URL — no user information of any kind is shared. The retrieved price data is then stored in our database and used to update your tracked products.
📝 Important: All product price retrieval happens on our backend servers. Your device never directly communicates with these data retrieval services. Only the public product URL is processed — nothing personal.
6. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. Limited sharing happens only in these cases:
6.1 Service Providers
Trusted service providers listed in Section 5 (Firebase, Google Cloud, Amazon API) process data on our behalf. They are bound by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
6.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by:
- Indian law, court order, or government regulation
- To protect our legal rights or property
- To prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
- To ensure the safety of users or the public
6.3 Business Transfers
If TrackDeals is merged, acquired, or sold, your data may be transferred to the new owner under the same privacy commitments.
7. Notifications & Alerts
TrackDeals sends the following types of push notifications:
- 🔔 Price Drop Alerts: Automatically sent when a product you're tracking drops in price below a predefined threshold.
- 🔥 Loot Deals: Hand-picked exceptional discount deals curated by our admin team, broadcast to all users with notifications enabled.
- 📂 Category Deal Alerts: Deal notifications for product categories you have explicitly subscribed to within the app.
- 📢 Service Updates: Important app announcements (sent rarely).
How to Manage Notifications
- Disable all notifications from your device's Settings → Apps → TrackDeals → Notifications
- Unsubscribe from categories within the app's category section
- Stop tracking individual products to stop those specific alerts
8. App Permissions
TrackDeals requests only the following permission:
- 📢 Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Required to send you price drop alerts, loot deals, and category-based notifications. You can grant or revoke this anytime from your device settings.
We do NOT request any other permissions — no camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, SMS, or call permissions.
9. Data Retention
We retain different types of data for different periods:
- Anonymous User ID & Profile Data: Retained as long as the app is installed and active on your device.
- Tracked Products: Retained until you untrack them or until your FCM token becomes invalid.
- Inactive User Cleanup: If you uninstall the app, your FCM token becomes invalid. When we detect this during the next notification attempt, your user data and active tracking entries are automatically removed from our servers.
- Price History: Historical price data of products may be retained even after a user untracks, as this is aggregated product data (not user-specific) used to display price trends for all users.
- Search History: Retained while your account is active.
- Notification History: Retained for up to 90 days for analytics purposes.
- Crash Logs: Retained for up to 90 days by Firebase Crashlytics.
- Analytics Data: Anonymized analytics retained for up to 14 months (Google Analytics default).
10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- 🔐 HTTPS/TLS Encryption: All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit
- 🔐 Firebase Security Rules: Strict database access rules ensure users can only access their own data
- 🔐 Google Cloud Infrastructure: Backed by Google's enterprise-grade security
- 🔐 No Sensitive Data: Since we don't collect emails, passwords, or financial info, there's nothing critical to leak
- 🔐 Admin Access Control: Backend admin access is restricted with secure authentication
While we use industry-standard practices, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data.
11. Data Storage Location
All your app data is stored on Google Cloud Firestore servers located in India (asia-south1 region — Mumbai). This ensures:

Some Google services (like Analytics and Crashlytics) may process anonymized technical data on global Google infrastructure.
12. Your Rights & Control
You have full control over your data in TrackDeals:
- ✅ View Your Data: All your tracked products, subscribed categories, and stats are visible in the app's profile section
- ✅ Modify Data: Add or remove tracked products and category subscriptions anytime
- ✅ Disable Notifications: Turn off notifications from app or device settings
- ✅ Delete All Data: See Section 13 for complete data deletion
- ✅ Right to Information: Contact us to learn what data we have linked to your anonymous user ID
13. Data Deletion
⚠️ Your Right to Delete: Since TrackDeals doesn't require login, deleting your data is simple and immediate.
13.1 Easy Method — Uninstall the App
Simply uninstall TrackDeals from your device. The next time our system attempts to send you a notification, your FCM token will be detected as invalid, and your data (anonymous user ID, tracked products, preferences, search history, notification history) will be automatically removed from our servers.
13.2 Clear App Data
You can also clear app data from your device settings: Settings → Apps → TrackDeals → Storage → Clear Data. This removes your locally stored name and preferences.
13.3 Manual Deletion Request
For immediate manual deletion of all your data from our servers, you can:
- Email us: Send a request to support.trackdeals@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include your approximate app install date to help us locate your data.
- Visit our data deletion instructions page for complete guidance on all deletion methods.
We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
13.4 What Gets Deleted
- ✅ Your anonymous user ID
- ✅ Your FCM token
- ✅ All your tracked products
- ✅ Your subscribed categories
- ✅ Your search history
- ✅ Your notification history
13.5 What May Be Retained
- Aggregated price history data (not linked to you personally)
- Anonymized analytics data (cannot be traced back to you)
14. Children's Privacy
TrackDeals is intended for users aged 13 years and above. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information like names or emails, there's minimal risk to children's privacy.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used our app, please contact us at support.trackdeals@gmail.com and we will help remove any associated data.
15. Affiliate Disclosure
TrackDeals participates in affiliate marketing programs:
- Amazon Associates Program: We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program (Amazon.in), which means we may earn a small commission when you buy products through our affiliate links.
- Other Retail Affiliates: We may earn commissions from other supported retailers (like Flipkart) when you click through our deal links.
💰 No Cost to You: Affiliate commissions never affect the price you pay. The price is identical whether you click through TrackDeals or visit the retailer directly. These commissions help us keep the app free for all users.
16. Legal Basis & Compliance
We process your data based on:
- Consent: By installing and using the app, you consent to the data practices described here
- Legitimate Interest: Operating, improving, and securing the app
- Legal Obligations: Complying with applicable laws
